This mic apparently accidentally got tested as a vocal mic and the reviewers were very surprised and impressed. So it is one of the three mics I am testing and using now.The mic has a great reputation for its designed purposes and it continues to impress me for its vocal capabilities. So after hearing that I looked on ebay and found only one, everybody wanted atleast $200.00 for one of these mic's, I got mine for under $120.00 NEW. Sounds awesome! I use it for saxophone going into efx pedals. I have only used it in one small venue and at home so far. They are very nice. The highs usually have to be turned down and bit and the low end really comes through, due to proximity effect, but I can totally work with that as the pivoting head allows me to adjust the angle of the diaphragm in relation to my horn's bell to pick up different sounds. My only criticism of this microphone is that the wire coming out of the diaphragm and into the stem seems a little cramped in there, and has tensions from being soldered before the capsule is screwed onto the stem. I was able to achieve while cupping the harp the open closed effect wah wah without being right on top of the mic. warm sounding. Compared to my n/d468 on rack tom it has juuuust a little less bottom. Awesome for tight spaces! I have not heard it with a female or tenor voice so I can't comment on that from my limited experience. So I am testing and using it as a vocal mic. Very cool purchase 5 stars. The pivoting head design ensures perfect placement. Perhaps if there were a connector that allowed the assembly of the whole microphone, then the connection to be made, this tension could be removed from the system. Snare duties and blended with a Sennheiser 421 on guitar cabs. Depends what I'm going for of course, but it's generally my goto floor tom mic. I perform with it clipped to my tenor sa xophone and the usability of it can't be beat. I'll get another one and try it on some toms for sure. I have a 57, Unidyne III, 421 and 441, so I've compared them first hand. Rejection is great, and proximity effect can be used to an advantage here (bass cabs/brass - great!). Verified purchase:  Yes | Condition: pre-owned | Sold by: mnmusic. I recently read reviews that convinced me to try some of the newer model mics. I would bet this will work just as I expected clear, clean, true tone.Read full review... im using these mics for my toms on my drums and they are performing fantastic. Electrovoice N/D468 I haven't had too many opportunities to use it yet, but, of course, I'm curious and eager to hear what anyone might have to say about any experiences using this mic. It makes good lme character of the snare, and captures well the tone, even from above (it is almost unnecessary to add a microphone for the stamp when using a ND468). Verified purchase:  Yes | Condition: pre-owned | Sold by: boynton_studio. I've even used it live on mandolin where a condensor was giving me some "feedback issues". f the whole microphone, then the connection to be made, this tension could be removed from the system. As soon as it arrived, I plugged it in to my P.A and blew a few notes WOW you would have to be atleast 8 inches from the mic the closer you get the louder it was, I was amazed. My drummer bought one to use as a vocal mic after trying mine one night. The N/D468 is a supercardioid moving-coil dynamic microphone with a pivoting head design. The super cardiod pattern is nice and tight so that sound coming at the microphone from the sides are not really picked up. I … Nice low end... crisp tops... not much bleed... love it! BF. I have not had any feedback problems. I think it is going to be fine for my voice.I have used a Sure SM58 for 30 years on my vocals. I've had good luck with them on guitar cabs and hand percussion, especially in a live situation. I haven't had too many opportunities to use it yet, but, of course, I'm curious and eager to hear what anyone might have to say about any experiences using this mic. Guitar cabs that i would mike with this one would mostly likely be my focus point, and ones that i'd want less present/noticeable i'd do with sm57s or Audix i5. I also have some amps that I will mic for the louder giggs. I have 2 of them. This is a great Mic, I have been running live sound for Over 20 years and I always carry them with me, I use them mainly for Mounted and floor toms of all sizes, They are very easy to place with the pivoting head, Ive also used the mics on Snare,Guitars and Vocals, I started usesing the ND308's and the 408's now they are called 468's, This Mic Can handle very high sound pressure levels while sounding natural and clear. more than satisfiedthank you to boynton pro audio for fast and safe shipment and a wonderful pricefor 4 microphones, Verified purchase:  Yes | Condition: new | Sold by: boyntonproaudio, Regarding the EV ND468 microphone.Gorgeous sounding is the best way to describe this mike.
