My apologies, I have been very busy with Artprize, which we finished 9th in, and College. But I hope to update more often in the future.

Anonymous asked: Why have you chosen to always paint yourself in the same color? why not siver or gold?
Because it takes a lot of knowledge in Alchemy to turn copper into silver or gold!
But really the reason is because my father and I feel the need to develop characters that are unique to our style. The copper color helps people recognize us as being statues they have seen before.
Some companies like to mass produce living statues by throwing different colors of makeup on a paid actor. We feel like our audience deserves a more character-driven performance than just a person standing like a statue.
Anonymous asked: where are you going after GRAND RAPIDS MI??? I live in GRAND RAPIDS MI. My name is livvy i'm the girl who broke your dogs leg off in Macanaw City. I was withmy grandpa and grandma. You were in the mall when it happend. You had your bike too along with your dog.
That was actually my dad, LiveStatue. He said he does remember you, but for you to not worry because Copper, the dog has been mended. Also he has another copper-colored dog named Brutus. I’ll be sure to post a picture of him soon!
Anonymous asked: Is the statue holding the glove and standing on the platform at Artprize 2011 alive?
That would be A.R.T. or Artistic Replication of True life. He is a statue that my father, Robert “LiveStatue” Shangle, built this summer to perform with us.
Anonymous asked: how do u stay so still
Well I try to get into an almost meditative mindset, where I lower my heart rate to keep the breathing as shallow as possible. For keeping the eyes open I think is just a lot of practice. I will put my contacts in at least 2 hours before I perform and do a few exercises to “warm” up my eyes.
You guys are awesome! We stopped to watch two nights in a row this weekend at ArtPrize. Keep it up!
Thank you, to see so many smiling faces and to receive so many compliments really does make some of the 14 hour days fly by. LiveStatue and myself can’t thank everyone enough for all of the kind words.

I will be performing in Artprize 2011 at The B.O.B. with LiveStatue starting today, Sept. 21, 2011. The piece is titled Under Construction. Please come down and see us and if you like us cast your vote, 49491!
A great article by John Matuszak of the Herald Palladium.
Anonymous asked: What is the best thing about being a statue?
Simple, I get to stand around all day!
On the other hand the best part of being a living statue is that I get to put smiles on so many faces.
